


Some examples that exist include the use of DOS-based software that is not up-to-date, and has several disadvantages. However, the development of the bridge management system has not run optimally. As a form of management support, a bridge management system has been developed and implemented since 1992 in Indonesia. The different character of bridges, as mentioned above, requires the adjustment in the management of bridge assets characteristics. Regarding this condition, bridges play an essential role in maintaining reliable connectivity in strategic development areas, and opening isolation of undeveloped regions. Indonesia is an archipelagic country with more than 17,600 islands in which the land transportation system has driven the national economy.
